My name is Nolan Rockers, and I’m the founder of Opinion Clothing, and this is how we started.
It is split into two sections.
I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus in the Spring of 2017. I knew I wanted to go into marketing and advertising but graduated with a Business Management degree so I knew it would be hard. I decided to pursue getting an internship or entry-level job at an agency in Minneapolis. I sent my resume to what felt like every single marketing firm and ad agency in Minnesota. I had interviews, but every single one came back as a no. Instead of getting down on myself, I told myself to remember that it was just their opinion that I wasn’t right for the job.
I also kept reminiscing on my childhood and realizing that there were so many things that I wish I would’ve done or tried, but didn’t because I was too nervous of either being judged or made fun of. The more I thought about it, I was still living my life that exact same way, and I was tired of living my life based on what I thought other's opinions of me would be.
So with those two stories combined, I created Opinion.
We live in a world where the fear of judgment causes people to change how they live their life, and I want this brand to show people it's ok to be themselves and to pursue what they want, no matter what others say.
